Here Are the Actors Playing Your Favorite Characters in the Power Rangers Reboot

Ever since it was announced that a new Power Rangers movie was in the works, we've been eagerly anticipating news about who would be cast. Luckily, it seems that the movie studio did a fantastic job. With A-listers like Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks re-creating iconic roles from the original series and a handful of relatively new actors taking on the five "teenagers with attitude," keep reading to see who will be playing your favorite characters when the movie hits theaters in March 2017.

Bill Hader as Alpha 5

It was recently announced that the Saturday Night Live alum will be joining the film as Alpha 5 via Instagram. In the TV show, Alpha 5 served as the bumbling robot helper to the Power Rangers, with his very own catch phrase: "Aye-yi-yi!" Since Hader did such a good job as BB-8 in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we have plenty of faith.

Bryan Cranston as Zordon

The Breaking Bad heavyweight will serve as the mentor for the Power Rangers, Zordon. In the show, he was seen as a floating head of sorts (Rita Repulsa trapped him in a time warp during their final battle thousands of years earlier), so we'll just have to wait and see if Cranston will appear in the flesh or not.

Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa

Photos of Elizabeth Banks dressed in her Rita Repulsa costume have already hit the web, and she looks mighty terrifying. Rita is a powerful witch and one of the Power Rangers' most feared villains, so it'll be exciting to see how the Hunger Games actress interprets the role.

Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger)

Relative newcomer Naomi Scott (she most recently had a small role in The Martian) will don the Pink Ranger's armor as Kimberly Hart. In the original, Kimberly starts off as a shopping-obsessed girlie girl, but her crazy-good gymnastics skills come in handy during more than a few battles.

Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott (Red Ranger)

Dacre Montgomery is taking on the role of the leader of the Power Rangers, Jason Lee Scott (aka the Red Ranger). Jason fills the stereotypical jock category, has a hidden love of martial arts, and ends up engaging in a bitter rivalry with Rita's favorite henchman, Goldar.

After making audiences weep with his incredible appearance in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, RJ Cyler will return to the big screen and suit up in the Blue Ranger's ensemble as the nerdy, lovable Billy Cranston.

Becky G as Trini (Yellow Ranger)

Becky G is quickly proving herself to be a double threat, with a blossoming singing career and a role in Empire under her belt. Only time will tell if she can transition the part of Trini — the whip-smart martial artist of the group — into more opportunities on the silver screen.

Hollywood newbie Ludi Lin has appeared in Netflix's Marco Polo and Lifetime's Holiday Spin, but this will be his first mainstream movie. The character of Zack Taylor/Black Ranger is a fun-loving, charismatic athlete, and judging by the size of Lin's biceps, he'll have no problem tackling the role.

David Denman as Sam Scott

David Denman has been keeping busy since playing Roy on The Office with parts in Outcast and 13 Hours, but his role as Sam Scott in Power Rangers is his most recent. Not much is known about his character so far other than the fact that he's the Red Ranger's father.
