8 Iconic I Love Lucy Looks to Channel This Halloween

I Love Lucy first premiered way back in October 1951, but the show and its star, Lucille Ball, still become favorites with each new generation. While the show deals with simple things in the most hilarious ways (remember when Lucy uses too much yeast while making bread?), the actress carried it to a whole new level. She was one of the first women to take on physical comedy, frequently letting her body's movements provide genuine laugh-out-loud moments (remember when she stuffed dozens of eggs down her shirt before dancing with Ricky?). Now, almost 65 years later, you still see her pop up during Halloween. But while classic Lucy is always a good look, we've rounded up some of her more memorable TV moments, from her desperate and constant attempts at being a star to her hilarious everyday mishaps.

Grape-Stomping Lucy

Episode: "Lucy's Italian Movie," season 5, episode 23

What to wear: An off-the-shoulder peasant top, chunky belt, bandana, and large rolled-up pants or a floor-length skirt tucked into your belt. Finish the look off with bright red lipstick and some festive earrings, and rub some purple body paint on your feet and ankles.

How to act: During Lucy's trip to Italy, her desire to break into show business doesn't take a vacation. Act clueless, be up to try anything, and have that desperate air to be cast in an Italian film.

Fake-Nose Lucy

Episode: "LA At Last!," season 4, episode 16

What to wear: A classic 1950s-inspired dress, a bandana holding up your curls, and a pair of retro glasses that can usually be found in any thrift store. Oh, and don't forget to apply a fake nose.

How to act: Lucy disguises herself only after she accidentally hits legendary actor William Holden in the face with a custard pie, but risks being exposed after her fake nose catches fire. So, rub some black makeup on the end of your nose, cross your eyes at it whenever you order a drink, and try and playfully hide from people you don't want to see.

Frozen Lucy

Episode: "The Freezer," season 1, episode 29

What to wear: Dress in all white (can even be sweats!) since the makeup is where this costume really shines. Throw on some fake white eyelashes, put glitter and fake snowflakes in your hair, and attach a few homemade icicles to your cheeks and chin.

How to act: Cold. Very cold.

Glamorous Lucy

Episode: Basically all of them.

What to wear: Don't feel like sporting any fake blood and guts this year? Allow Lucy to be your saving grace. Break out your grandma's costume jewelry, put your hair up in a neat 'do, find a fancy vintage dress at a thrift store, and wear some open-toed heels. You can even take things up a notch by wearing a fur coat with an old-fashioned brooch.

How to act: Carry around a fake cigarette in a vintage holder, sip on a martini, and make sure you have more class than anyone in the room.

Camille-the-Gypsy Lucy

Episode: "The Operetta," season 2, episode 5

What to wear: You can pull off this look by layering on the most random items of clothing and jewelry you own.

How to act: Lucy's desperate attempt at being the star of the show shines again in this episode, so make sure you try and steal the spotlight every chance you get. Belt out a few off-key notes and flash a weird and creepy smile at strangers, and you're set.

Struggling-Performer Lucy

Episode: Basically all of them.

What to wear: Go comfortable in pants, a white blouse, and a black vest. And don't forget to make your own picket sign that reads, "Ricky Ricardo Is Unfair!"

How to act: Like everyone is out to crush your dreams and nobody understands you. You just want to be a star, so why can't you stop the band midsong to grab the mic and make everyone's ears bleed with your terrible singing?

Everyday Lucy

Episode: Basically all of them.

What to wear: Ah, classic Lucy. A black and white polka-dot dress is best, paired with simple black heels and red lipstick.

How to act: Like you can't help but get yourself mixed up in the most unexpected of messes. Smile and say sorry for probably knocking over a whole row of glasses, but then look at your best friend like, "Eghhhhh."

Saleswoman Lucy

Episode: "Lucy Does a TV Commercial," season 1, episode 30

What to wear: A classic Lucy outfit of a vintage dress and pearls, but make sure you have a bottle of medicine and a spoon with you as props.

How to act: Fill the medicine bottle with whatever you like (water, vodka, soup?) and continuously pour it onto your spoon throughout the night. With each new dose, slur your words a little bit more until you're just a straight-up mess.
