Life-Size 2 Has Officially Begun Filming and We're Freaking Out

If you count 2000's Life-Size as one of your favorite Disney Channel movies — and really, who doesn't? — then we have some great news: the forever-in-development sequel is really actually on the way! Tyra Banks officially confirmed the news on Twitter back in April 2017, and we have all been on the edge of our seats ever since. Details of the sequel were kept under heavy wraps since the announcement, leaving fans with a ton of questions! Many wondered if this would mark the return of Lindsay Lohan after she took a step back from acting in recent years. Well, more than a year later, we finally have more details on the upcoming sequel. Tyra Is Wearing All the Hats For Life-Size 2, Including Singer

Banks, who plays fashion-doll-turned-human Eve in the first film, will be reprising her role in Life-Size 2. She will also be serving as executive producer of the sequel and revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she is recording a remix of the first movie's theme song, "Be a Star." The remix is meant to sound more current, though the original will forever be a bop to us.

Lindsay Lohan's Involvement Is Still an Unknown

In Life-Size, Lohan plays Casey Stuart, a grieving young girl who is raised by her widowed father (Jere Burns). Casey uses a magic spell in an attempt to revive her dead mother but manages to bring a fashion doll named Eve to life instead. Fans were excited at the prospect of Lohan returning to the small screen to reprise her role, but so far there's been no word on whether she actually will. Still, fans can cross their fingers for a chance that an adult Casey will make a brief cameo!

There's a Whole New Cast, and Filming Has Already Started

On Monday, July 9, Tyra announced not only that filming for Life-Size 2 had already started, but also that her costar would be Grown-ish actress Francia Raisa! According to a press release, Raisa will be portraying Grace Manning, "the confident and funny CEO of Marathon Toys, a huge toy company started by her mother that is most famous for manufacturing the iconic Eve doll." Also part of the new cast are Gavin Stenhouse as Grace's love interest, Calum; Shanica Knowles and Hank Chen as Grace's friends Tahlia and Brendan; and Alison Fernandez as Lex, Grace's young neighbor.

The Sequel Will Be a Holiday Movie

Life-Size 2 will debut on Freeform during the holidays as a "modern Christmas movie." According to the synopsis, Grace finds herself in over her head in her new position as CEO of Marathon Toys, and her wild-child ways are damaging the company's stock. Grace is described as "a hot mess in the middle of her quarter-life crisis," so it's bound to be a good time. We imagine Grace will be needing some serious guidance from a specific living doll, and we are so ready for the fashion montage that must be involved.
