In this movie, Markle takes on the role of a businesswoman named Cassandra who uses a dating handbook to turn her love life around. She then has to choose between following her heart or following the advice in the relationship guide.

"I remember when I was in high school and college we were still reading The Rules and this is very much like that," Markle said in an interview with Hallmark about the film. "I'm just drawn to how relatable the script is. When I first read it I thought, 'There are so many women who are going to connect to this story of trying to find the balance in work and also in relationships and just trying to find love.'"
