The First Pics of the Halloween Reboot Are In! Take a Peek at the Madness

Forty years after the very first Halloween film terrorized audiences with the ruthless violence of Michael Myers, we're coming full circle. Jamie Lee Curtis herself announced the latest Halloween reboot back in September 2017, and details have been trickling in ever since. This project is really carving out its own space in the Halloween universe. John Carpenter, who wrote and directed the original film, is on board as an executive producer and creative consultant. Naturally, Curtis is back. And this time around, David Gordon Green is the writer and director.

And then there's that one thing that's really setting this film apart in a major way: it will totally ignore every single Halloween film that was made after the original. Carpenter says it "picks up after the first one" and it's "almost an alternative reality." Curious? So are we. Join us as we pore over these behind-the-scenes shots from the cast and production company.

Obviously, Jamie Lee Curtis shared the first photo and helped announce the exciting project. "Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later," Curtis wrote. "Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18."

Curtis teased us once again on Halloween night! "SOME WOUNDS NEVER HEAL," she captioned the pic. "Michael and I will see you all next Halloween 10/19/18."

Clearly, this was a pretty nostalgic moment. "First shot. @halloweenmovie Halloween 40 years later. Same slate. Same Laurie," she wrote with her post. "David Gordon Green directing from his script. Happy Halloween 2018 everyone. See you all 10/19/18 #halloweenmovie."

Curtis isn't the only one sharing behind-the-scenes action! Miles Guthrie Robbins shared his own snap, writing, "Pocket full of poses bts of @halloweenmovie." (Bonus fact: Robbins is actually Susan Sarandon's son, if you didn't know.)

Even Blumhouse, the studio behind the project, is getting in on the fun. This pic's caption was just a pumpkin emoji, a knife emoji, and the movie's hashtag.

Look! It's a behind-the-scenes shot from another one of the stars! Andi Matichak, who will play Allyson, cracked a little joke when she posted this pic: "bts on Fast Times at Haddonfield High #halloweenmovie."

Blumhouse was clearly enthralled with Robbins's choice of footwear. "Nothing beats @smilesguthrie‘s footwear on set today," the caption said.

"Office decor." Nice touch, Blumhouse.
