If you love movies about lovable outsiders dealing with sudden popularity for questionable reasons, then "The Princess Diaries" is the perfect companion movie for "Mean Girls." High school student Mia is, in her own words, "invisible." Fortunately, she's got her cool artist mom, her brash BFF Lilly, and Lilly's brother Michael in her corner. When her long-lost grandmother shows up, she turns Mia's life upside down by revealing that Mia's late father was a prince and, consequently, Mia is a princess and heir to the Genovian throne. Mia tries to keep her royal news a secret until she decides what to do, but these things don't stay under wraps for long, forcing Mia to figure out who she can trust and whether or not the trappings of royal life are worth the tradeoffs.
