After 7 Seasons, Scandal Is Over For Good — Here's How It All Ends

Scandal's beloved Attorney General, David Rosen, is described by his fellow gladiators as "the last good guy." Ready to take down Cyrus Beene, Jake Ballard, and B613, David's time on the show ultimately comes to a tragic end.

After Vice President Beene calls him, offering a truce and a confession, David is poisoned and murdered at the hands of Cyrus.

His character's final mention in the series is a closing scene at his tombstone with girlfriend Abby and pal Huck, reminiscing on all the good work Rosen had done.

"You can't take Command, son." Those famous words are made true one last time in Scandal's series finale by B613 founder (aka "Command") Rowan Pope

Initially, Rowan decides to flee the country after his daughter, Olivia Pope, decides to take down the secret government spy agency. Ultimately, he has a change of heart in the end, finally testifying at the Senate hearing. Rowan's testimony is what saves Olivia and her gang of misfits and landed the White House Chief of Staff, Jake Ballard, locked up and taking the fall for the show's final "scandal."

Shockingly, the biggest revelation of Charlie's character is that his name is actually Bernard. In the end, Charlie marries Quinn in prison, before being released and acquitted of the charges he had been framed for.

Marcus, a man of the people, helps push Mellie and Olivia to always do the right thing. It's no shocker that in the end, he is proudly standing alongside his love Mellie Grant in the Oval Office, as she marks her legacy.

Abby marches alongside her fellow gladiators, ready to take down B613 and her former White House colleague, Cyrus Beene, once and for all, testifying before the Senate. Alongside her associates, Abby is ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing in the end.

In a bittersweet conclusion, Abby also mourns the loss of her boyfriend, Attorney General David Rosen.

Though Huck's future is left undetermined, his final scene is alongside fellow gladiator and friend, Abby Whelan, mourning the loss of David. Possibly the two will help guide each other toward the next chapter in their lives.

Quinn's character arguably grows the most, from Lindsay Dwyer to the new recruit at Olivia Pope and Associates, ultimately taking over Olivia Pope's role at Quinn Perkins and Associates.

Though she nearly dies in Scandal's final season, at the hands of Pope herself, Quinn lives on to give birth to her first daughter and marry her fiancé, Charlie. The two bask in the sun with daughter Robin, as Charlie is release from prison and cleared of all charges.

After taking the fall for B613's treasonous existence (due to Rowan Pope's testimony at the Senate hearing), Jake is sentenced to prison — but not without one final visit from Olivia.

Jake and Olivia notably escape the madness surrounding the White House when they run off to an island in season four, and Olivia apologizes to Jake for bringing him back to Washington with her.

Olivia atones and parts ways with Jake, letting him know she would not be visiting him again.

President Mellie Grant keeps her throne in the end. After a power struggle with Vice President Cyrus, Mellie testifies before the Senate and with Rowan's help, is able to hold her position in office with Marcus by her side.

After asking Olivia to stay with her to help her run the administration, Olivia assures Mellie that this office is all hers.

Fitz's legacy lives on, untarnished. Though losing the reputation he had built had once been his greatest fear, Fitz risks it all to do the right thing.

He and Olivia share a steamy night together as they anticipate going off to prison the next day. Thanks to Rowan, Fitz is able to walk away a free man with a solid reputation as former President of the United States.

His final scene is shared with Olivia, as his SUV pulls up to meet her outside the White House. Their future together is left uncertain, but here's to hoping that some jam-making may be happening in the future for the two lovebirds.

After killing David Rosen to save himself from going down, Vice President Cyrus Bean is no match for Olivia Pope and pals. His plan to take the Oval Office fails, his partner in crime Jake is hauled away, and he's left with a letter of resignation to sign from none other than Olivia Pope herself.

Cyrus agrees to resign and walks away with his tail between his legs, free of any criminal charges.

Once again, Olivia Pope saves the day. After ending things with Jake, taking down Cyrus, and saving Mellie's presidency, Olivia shares that she's stepping away from the White House. When Mellie asks what's next on the horizon, Pope responds, "Whatever I want."

We see her time on Scandal come to an end with the hint of a potential future with Fitz (hopefully in Vermont) and a dinner scene at home, shared with her father, Rowan. The staple on their dinner table? Red wine, of course.

The series concludes with two young black girls roaming the White House museum walls, only to land upon a giant portrait of Pope with the words, "We the People."
