In March, she released a personal essay on Teen Vogue's website sharing her story about how she came to embrace her sexuality.

In 2009, Martin starred on the short-lived TV remake of 10 Things I Hate About You on ABC Family. Since then, she has had a handful of guest appearances on TV shows including Melissa & Joey and Disney Channel's Jessie.
