Twilight wasn't the first time Nikki Reed had worked with director Catherine Hardwicke: in 2003, she starred in Hardwicke's drama Thirteen when she was only 15. Since Twilight wrapped, Reed has starred in smaller-budget films such as Empire State and About Scout. She has also put her focus on doing charity work for animal welfare and in 2014, she was honored with the ASPCA Compassion Award for her contributions. In 2017, she launched her lifestyle company Bayou for Love, which focuses on creating sustainable jewelry and apparel. On top of all of that, Reed has since started a family. In 2015, she married The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder and they welcomed their daughter in 2017. Most recently, Reed and Somerhalder shared the screen on Netflix's V-Wars.
