13 TV Show Premieres to Add to Your Must-Watch List in 2019

A new year means new resolutions, new goals, and — of course — new TV shows. Unfortunately, if your resolution for next year is to watch less TV, you're going to have a tough time. The first few months of 2019 are going to deliver more than a dozen exciting new premieres, including several comic book adaptations, a trio of exciting competition shows, and series starring both To All the Boys I've Loved Before's Lara Condor and Noah Centineo — though not together, we're sorry to say. Check out the gallery to see the 13 new series premieres we've already got marked on our calendars for 2019.

The Masked Singer

The Masked Singer

Hosted by Nick Cannon, this upcoming Fox reality competition series will feature 12 singing celebrities, with one singer eliminated each week. The catch: the contestants will wear head-to-toe costumes concealing their identities from the other contestants, the panelists, and the audience. Small hints revealing their identity will be given throughout the show, while panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke try to guess their identities. The Titan Games

The Titan Games

Created and hosted by Dwayne Johnson, this NBC athletic competition offers competitors the chance to enter the Titan arena and go up against one of six reigning Titans in challenges that will test them both physically and mentally. If a contender defeats a Titan, the contender gets to take the Titan's place and joins the elite Titan group, but once they become a Titan, they must be victorious every week to keep their spot and become the last man or woman standing. Just watching the trailer has us exhausted.

Surviving R. Kelly

Surviving R. Kelly

Lifetime's three-part documentary series features survivors and people from inside R. Kelly's inner circle as they come forward to tell never-before-heard stories about the R&B singer's abuse, predatory behavior, and pedophilia. Though R. Kelly has seemingly never been affected or punished for any of the many accusations against him, this documentary series hopes to shed new light on his sexual, mental, and physical abuse and bring his victims justice. The trailer alone will give you chills.

Racing Wives

Racing Wives

This CMT unscripted series will follow the wives of NASCAR's biggest stars, offering a peak into their private lives and relationships both on and off the track. Featured spouses will includes sisters-in-law Ashley and Samantha Busch, who are married to world-famous drivers Kurt and Kyle Busch, respectively, as well as Whitney Ward Dillon, a former cheerleader now married to Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon. From the looks of the trailer, this show is going to be a wild ride.

America's Got Talent: The Champions

America's Got Talent: The Champions

This America's Got Talent spinoff features the most memorable acts from previous AGT seasons, allowing them to return to the stage to compete for the title of AGT Champion. Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews will host, with Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel returning as the show's celebrity panelists. Watch the trailer to get excited about seeing Scottish singer Susan Boyle, ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer, and magician Shin Lim (among many others fan favorites) go head to head.

Good Trouble

A spinoff from Freeform's hit show The Fosters, this show will follow Callie Adams-Foster (played by Maia Mitchell) and Mariana Adams-Foster (played by Cierra Ramirez) as they navigate life in Los Angeles. As new residents in LA, Mariana will tackle the male-dominated tech world, while Callie will enter the federal legal system as a clerk for a judge. And yes, Noah Centineo will also be appearing, reprising his role as Jesus Adams-Foster. Be sure to check out the trailer if you need any more incentive to watch this new series.

The Passage

Based on Justin Cronin's novel series of the same name, this Fox drama will follow a young girl (played by Saniyya Sidney) who is chosen to be a test subject at a secret medical facility and the federal agent (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) tasked with bringing her there. However, rather than turning her over to the dangerous experiment, the federal agent finds himself acting as a surrogate father, doing everything in his power to protect his young charge. Watch the trailer to get some major goosebumps.

Roswell, New Mexico

Based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz, this CW drama tells the story of a biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants (played by Jeanine Mason) who discovers that her former crush (played by Nathan Parsons) is secretly an alien who has kept his abilities hidden while working as a Roswell police officer. The two band together as the latter's secret identity is threatened by a violent attack and a potential greater alien presence on Earth. If you love all things supernatural, you've got to check out the trailer for this one.

Deadly Class

Based on Rick Remender's bestselling graphic novel series of the same name, this new Syfy series follows a teenager (played by Benjamin Wadsworth) who gets recruited into King's Dominion, a high school for training assassins. To All the Boys I've Loved Before's Lana Condor is also set to star alongside Liam James and Benedict Wong. Even if science fiction isn't your thing, we think you better check out the trailer for this one.

A Discovery of Witches

Based on Deborah Harkness' bestselling All Souls Trilogy, this highly anticipated series follows a tenured historian and reluctant witch (played by Teresa Palmer) who discovers a manuscript that forces her to to acknowledge her magical powers in order to protect its secrets. Together with the help of a geneticist and vampire (played by Matthew Goode), Dr. Diana Bishop must keep the manuscript safe against threats from the mystic world. Watch the trailer for a taste of witches, vampires, and forbidden love that can't be missed once it's available to stream on Sundance Now.

This new Showtime comedy series — executive produced by David Caspe, Jordan Cahan, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg — follows a group of outsiders as they crash the old-boys' club of Wall Street (and accidentally crash the world's largest financial system along the way). Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells, and Regina Hall are all set to star, and we can't wait to see this trio take us all way back in 1987. Check out the trailer to feel some major '80s vibes.

The Umbrella Academy

An adaption of the Gerard Way comic book series of the same name, this Netflix series will follow a dysfunctional family of superheroes — Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Séance, The Boy, The Horror, and The White Violin — as they attempt to work together to figure out what caused their father's death. With a cast that includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Mary J. Blige, and Kate Walsh, among several others, it's safe to say this one is going to be epic.

Proven Innocent

In this Fox legal drama, Madeline Scott, an underdog criminal defense lawyer who was wrongly convinced of murder at 18 (played by Rachelle Lefevre), teams up with the lawyer who helped set her free (played by Russell Hornsby) in order to defend others — as well as to continue the search for the real murder in Madeline's own case. Nikki M. James and Vincent Kartheiser round out the team of crusaders, with Kelsey Grammer also set to appear as a series regular. Check out the trailer to see why we're so excited.
