Lucy (Tatyana Ali) is on top of the world with her high-profile job and her big fancy life. She's on track for a promotion at her law firm when her older sister Alice (Brittany Guess) suddenly dies. Lucy heads back to her small hometown in Wisconsin to settle Alice's estate with her lawyer Peter (Dondré T. Whitfield). Peter also happens to be Lucy's high school boyfriend. He shares the terms of Alice's estate with Lucy, letting her know that in order to claim her things, Lucy has to obey Alice's one last wish: spend at least 30 days in her hometown for the holidays.
