Bird Box: Yes, Dumplin's Danielle Macdonald Plays Olympia, and Yes, She's Wonderful

Bird Box is now streaming on Netflix, which means it's only a matter of time before you fall in love with Danielle Macdonald all over again. The 27-year-old Australian actress has been in films and TV shows since 2010, when she began her career with guest spots in Glee, Toolies, and Pretty Little Liars. Since then, she's gone on to more high-profile projects, most recently playing the beloved Willowdean Dickson in Netflix's Dumplin'. It's safe to say we can't get enough of her. Patti Cake$ (2017)

Macdonald made a splash as the titular Patti in 2017's Patti Cake$. The drama, which also stars Siddharth Dhananjay, follows a young woman who's not so secretly an aspiring rapper. Although Killa P, aka Patti Cake$, has big dreams, becoming a hip-hop star from her small hometown in New Jersey isn't so easy.

Every Secret Thing (2014)

Macdonald plays Diane Lane's daughter in this 2014 drama, which sees a detective trying to solve a mystery involving two young women who, seven years earlier, were put in jail after it was suspected they were responsible for an infant's death.

Easy, Season 2 (2017)

In the second season of this Netflix series, Macdonald appears in the episode "Prodigal Daughter," about a teenager who gets back at her parents for forcing her to go to church every week.

Dumplin' (2018)

Macdonald stars in Dumplin' as Willowdean Dickson, a Dolly Parton-obsessed teen who decides to enter into her small Texas town's beauty pageant as an act of rebellion against people who judge her for her size.

Bird Box (2018)

And, of course, in this dystopian thriller about a mysterious force that causes people to commit suicide on the spot, Macdonald plays the sweet-natured Olympia. Like costar Sandra Bullock's character, she finds herself pregnant at the worst possible moment, doomed to endure the apocalypse in a house with a handful of other survivors.
