Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" Song Is Coming, and the Inspiration Behind It Is SO Cute

With a new album on the horizon, Ariana Grande has released details for yet another new song and already begun to tease fans with sneak peeks at the accompanying music video! The 25-year-old singer's next big single "7 Rings" will drop on Friday, Jan. 18, which Grande confirmed by sharing the cover art and release date on Twitter. Grande first teased the song in December when she snuck in a "7 Rings" license plate in her "Thank U, Next" video. Since then, she's been dropping small glimpses at the music video to excite her fans, including some footage that gives a hint at what the video's aesthetic will be — all ladies and lots of pink.

According to Grande, the song is based on a fun day spent with friends in NYC. "'Twas a pretty rough day in NYC. My friends took me to Tiffany's. We had too much Champagne. I bought us all rings. It was very insane and funny," she tweeted on Dec. 1. One of her friends suggested the whole thing should be turned into a song, and boom, it was written that day.

Grande has already treated our ears to multiple new songs since the release of Sweetener in August 2018, including "Imagine", which dropped on Dec. 14. Our queen and upcoming Coachella headliner certainly has had a lot to write about, and the songs just keep coming.
