Ariana Grande Is Already Teasing Who the Songs on Thank U, Next Are About — We're Shaking

Another day, another delightful update about Ariana Grande's new album.

The 25-year-old singer recently found herself embroiled in controversy after the release of her latest track, "7 Rings" — which sounds a little too familiar for comfort and contains some questionable lyrics — but has since apologized and rebounded by focusing on the release of her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next. The upcoming record, which takes its name from her empowering, wildly catchy hit single, already has an album cover and tracklist floating around the internet. While we've heard "Imagine," "Thank U, Next," and "7 Rings," there are still quite a few songs that fans are desperate for.

Luckily, Grande is a benevolent pop queen and has been busy fielding questions from fans about who and what inspired tracks on Thank U, Next, from "NASA" to "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" (yes, we're already obsessed with the latter). If you're curious which of her high-profile ex-boyfriends might get a mention on the album or if "NASA" is indeed about space (or at the very least, Grande's space buns), check out everything she's said so far, ahead, before her album comes out on Feb. 8.

"Ghostin'"

The eighth song on Thank U, Next is "Ghostin'," which doesn't appear to be about Grande suddenly not replying to a guy on Tinder (that any of us know of). Rather, she told a fan that it's about "feeling badly for the person you're with bc you love somebody else. Feeling badly bc he can tell he can't compare . . . and how i should be ghosting him." She never says who, exactly, she's talking about (presumably there will be more clues in the actual lyrics), but what's interesting is that both she and ex-fiancé Pete Davidson have been open about how they first fell for each other when Grande met him while appearing on Saturday Night Live. Both were dating other people at the time; Grande was with late rapper Mac Miller, and Davidson was still dating Cazzie David.

"In My Head"

"In My Head" will apparently be about "being in love [with] a version of somebody you've created in your head. Falling for someone that they are not." Yes, this might be about Grande's short-lived relationship with Davidson, or it's a personal attack on my own dating history. Who knows? (Certainly not I.)

"Bloodline"

Well, this certainly sounds . . . complicated? Passionate? All of the above?

"NASA"

Judging from her recent hairstyle, Grande is fully embracing a spacey new vibe. When a fan asked her if "NASA" is "actually about space," she replied, "kind of yeah!" I'm betting she means metaphorical space.

"Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored"

Is this the best title of a song in history? Honestly, in my humble opinion, yes. But as you can see in the following tweets, Grande is insisting that the tune isn't aimed at any new guy in particular, since "all the boys in my life are gay (thank god)."
