The Cast of the Hellboy Reboot Is Looking Hella Awesome (Yeah, We Said It)

Best known for playing Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, David Harbour will star in the film as the titular Hellboy, or Anung Un Rama, a powerful but well-meaning Cambion (or half-demon) who was summoned from the underworld by Nazi occultists and later discovered by the Allied Forces. He then became a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, helping out in the fight against the occult threats.

Milla Jovovich, who portrayed Alice in the sci-fi horror franchise Resident Evil, will play Hellboy's nemesis Nimue, or the Blood Queen, an ancient sorceress who seeks to destroy all of humankind.

Best known for playing Al Swearengen on the HBO series Deadwood, Ian McShane will appear as Trevor Bruttenholm, Hellboy's tough adoptive father and the founder of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

Sasha Lane, who made her acting debut in American Honey as Star, will play Alice Monaghan, a young woman whom Hellboy saved as a baby from evil fairies and who retained some magical abilities after the incident.

The handsome Daniel Dae Kim, who's best known for playing Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost, will appear as Major Ben Daimio, a BPRD military member who has the ability to turn into a jaguar when he's angry. Originally the role was supposed to go to Deadpool's Ed Skrein, but Skrein wisely stepped down after learning that the character is Japanese-American in the original comics.

Known for playing Sandman in Spider-Man 3, Thomas Haden Church will take on Lobster Johnson, a violent vigilante who's known for burning his trademark lobster claw symbol into his victims' foreheads.

Penelope Mitchell — otherwise known as Liv Parker on The Vampire Diaries — will appear as Ganeida, an elder witch determined to put an end to Nimue and her destruction.

Sophie Okonedo, who most recently played Kanga in Christopher Robin, will play Lady Hatton, a well-known seer at the Osiris Club, an ancient organization dedicated to solving supernatural mysteries.

Irish actor Brian Gleeson will portray Merlin, the same ancient and powerful sorcerer from the classic Arthurian legend.

Alistair Petrie, who plays Mr. Groff in Netflix's Sex Education, will appear as Lord Adam Glaren, a high-ranking member at the Osiris Club.
