The Black Panther Cast Had a Night Full of Laughs and Big Wins at the NAACP Image Awards

Wherever the Black Panther cast goes, opulence follows. On Saturday, the all-star group — which includes Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Sterling K. Brown, and Letitia Wright — attended the NAACP Image Awards, and naturally, had a ton of fun. They certainly had a reason to be in good spirits, considering how many awards Black Panther took home.

Director Ryan Coogler accepted the awards for outstanding writing in a motion picture film and outstanding directing in a motion picture film. Boseman won outstanding actor in a motion picture for his portrayal of T'Challah, and Jordan — who embodied the film's antagonist Killmonger — snagged the trophy for outstanding supporting actor in a motion picture. Danai, who played the fierce warrior Okoye, earned the title of outstanding supporting actress in a motion picture.

But the wins didn't stop there, as Wright (Princess Shuri) secured the award for outstanding breakthrough performance in a motion picture, and the cast accepted the prize for outstanding ensemble cast in a motion picture. Their successful night was finally topped off with one of the biggest wins: the award for outstanding motion picture. There's no denying that Black Panther sparked a cultural movement and introduced us to this amazing cast, so we'll proudly yell, "Wakanda forever!" for many years to come.
