After: Keen-Eyed Harry Potter Fans Will Recognize the Actor Who Plays Hardin Scott

Aviron Pictures

The first trailer for After dropped way back in November 2018, and it's safe to say that every preview of the sultry One Direction-fan-fiction-turned-bestselling-novel adaptation has fans falling more and more in love with the cast. The film, which is based on novelist Anna Todd's story originally published on Wattpad, follows strait-laced college student Tessa, who falls in love with the tattooed bad boy Hardin Scott. The story has everything you could look for in a dark and twisted love story, and, most importantly, it stars the dashing Hero Fiennes-Tiffin as the emotionally tortured bad boy himself.

The 21-year-old British model and actor has a filmography that's a little light on titles, but he's best-known for his role as 11-year-old Tom Riddle, aka the future Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. His success in the role is in no small part thanks to his resemblance to adult Lord Voldemort, who is played by his uncle Ralph Fiennes. Fiennes-Tiffin has been in a few other roles since then, but there's no doubt that Hardin Scott will be the one to put him on the map.

Hardin is the "Ultimate Bad Boy," and from what little we've seen of the film, Fiennes-Tiffin plays him to brooding perfection. Originally, the story was about Harry Styles — yes, that Harry Styles — when it debuted on Wattpad, with the name of the male character having to be tweaked when it was published (although he still bears the same HS initials). He has tattoos, a permanent scowl, and a haunted quality about him that Fiennes-Tiffin told Elle magazine is easy for him since his go-to face is "just a screw face. Straight face. Grumpy-lookin'."

Whatever he wants to call it, it's definitely working for the millions of passionate readers who will flock to theaters to check out his steamy portrayal. Check out photos of Fiennes-Tiffin in all his Hardin glory ahead, and look out for After when it premieres on April 12!
