What it's about: Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose was adapted for the small screen by SundanceTV this year, with John Turturro playing enlightened friar Guglielmo da Baskerville. With the help of his apprentice, the Franciscan monk travels to an abbey in the Alps in 1327 to get to the bottom of several mysterious murders, without raising the suspicions of a powerful Inquisitor.
