A Friendly Reminder That After's Hero Fiennes-Tiffin Played Young Voldemort

If you haven't already heard, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin is Netflix's newest heartthrob, known for playing the mysterious Hardin in the movie After. The young actor has a relatively new filmography, but Harry Potter-lovers may recognize him as the evilest wizard of all time. Yes, long, long before he was a romantic drama stud, Fiennes-Tiffin was Lord Voldemort himself.

He didn't play the hot Tom Riddle from Chambers of Secrets or the noseless one reborn in Goblet of Fire. If you recall in Half-Blood Prince, there was a tween version of Voldemort that Albus Dumbledore fetched from an orphanage. Contrasting with Christian Coulson's charisma in the second movie, Fiennes-Tiffin played up the creepy, lonely child factor with sullen stares and lip curls. During the principal photography for the film in 2007, he was 10 years old, just around the age that students get their Hogwarts letters. (Note that the Voldemort that Slughorn talks to in that movie is played by a different actor, Frank Dillane.)

If you do see any resemblance between this Tom Riddle and the more mature version of Voldemort, it might be because Ralph Fiennes, who plays Voldemort starting from Goblet of Fire, is Fiennes-Tiffin's uncle. If we're being honest, we can't really see the similarities, since his nephew wasn't gray, bald, or noseless.
