Fantasia Taylor as Celie

The talented singer earned rave reviews for her portrayal of Celie in the hit Broadway musical back in 2007, which also marked her stage debut. Taylor also reprised her role in "The Color Purple"'s national tour. Celie was famously played by Whoopi Goldberg in Spielberg's film adaptation.
