In Interstellar, Cooper is able to travel through time to reach his dearest loved ones and potentially manipulate the sequence of events that lead to his journey to space. In Edge of Tomorrow, time exists in a loop, where Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) is forced to relive the same day over and over again. When aliens invade London, Cage is enlisted to fight against them, dying within minutes of his battle. To his shock, however, he wakes up and realizes that he is reliving that same day. With this knowledge, Cage tries to change the trajectory of events each day to defeat the aliens.
