Why Megan Thee Stallion Is in a Heated Legal Battle With Her Label

In August 2021, Megan yet again sued 1501 Certified Entertainment in regard to her remix of BTS's hit song "Butter." According to court documents obtained by Variety, the label was allegedly blocking the remix's release, claiming that it would not be "good for her career." Another restraining order was issued by the court, permitting Megan to go forward with the feature. It was released on Aug. 27, 2021. BTS's "Butter" surged to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week after its release.
