5 Iconic Star Wars Characters Who Could Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"

By this point, we should know to expect a few cameos in "Obi-Wan Kenobi," right? The second season of "The Mandalorian" featured the return of fan-favorite Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, and Bo-Katan Kryze, while the first season of "The Book of Boba Fett" included surprise appearances from The Mandalorian, Grogu, Cad Bane, and more. This has us thinking, who could appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

So far, here's what we know: Hayden Christensen is confirmed to reprise his role as Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker in the show, and rumor has it he'll be going head to head with Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi. When the teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series arrived on March 9, we also learned we'll see Luke and his Uncle Owen again.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, the trailer revealed a group of Jedi hunters called the inquisitors (who are first seen in the 2014 animated series "Star Wars: Rebels") would be getting the live-action treatment for the first time in "Obi-Wan Kenobi," and they'll be played by Rupert Friend, Moses Ingram, and Sung Kang.

Fans are convinced the trailer hints that other major Staw Wars characters could appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi," too, and once you see the easter eggs, you'll be just as convinced.

Will Qui-Gon Jinn Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Will Qui-Gon Jinn Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Even though Qui-Gon Jinn is dead by the time the events of "Obi-Wan Kenobi" take place, it's possible he could still appear in the show as a force ghost in order to communicate with Obi-Wan, his former padawan. The idea is actually teased at the end of "Revenge of the Sith" when Obi-Wan talks to Yoda about going into hiding on Tatooine following the Great Jedi Purge, which is when the Jedi are hunted to near-extinction by the Empire. Yoda tells Obi-Wan that Qui-Gon "has learned the path to immortality," and as we saw in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," Qui-Gon is able to return to the land of the living as a force ghost. Because of this, Yoda suggests Obi-Wan train himself in order to learn how to communicate with Qui-Gon.

The "Obi-Wan Kenobi" trailer hinted Obi-Wan was successful at reuniting with his old master. At the start of the video, there's a voiceover from him that says, "The fight is done. We lost." Since we don't see who Obi-Wan is talking to, and he says "We lost" while talking about the Empire defeating the Jedi, Qui-Gon could very well be the fellow Jedi he's talking to.

Will Cal Kestis Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Will Cal Kestis Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

The "Obi-Wan Kenobi" trailer features the live-action debut of the inquisitors, which are a group of force users loyal to the Empire that hunt Jedi, and we even get a glimpse of their base of operations called Fortress Inquisitorius. Since the underwater Imperial stronghold made its debut in the 2019 Star Wars video game "Jedi: Fallen Order," we might see the game's protagonist Cal Kestis, who's a Jedi, appear in the show.

First of all, the game takes place in between the events of "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope" just like "Obi-Wan Kenobi," which opens up the possibility for Cal and Obi-Wan to meet during this time. Second, both Darth Vader and the inquisitors have a bone to pick with Cal after he destroyed crucial information that could have helped the Empire find force-sensitive people in the galaxy. Finally, the ending of "Jedi: Fallen Order" teases Cal is in search of another adventure, so maybe he'll find himself on Tatooine next?

If Cal finds that adventure in "Obi-Wan Kenobi," could he be played by "Shameless"s Cameron Monaghan, who portrayed him for the video game? Only time will tell.

Will Captain Rex Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Will Captain Rex Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Captain Rex is a beloved Star Wars character we have yet to see in live-action form. In case you're not familiar with him, Rex is the respected leader of the 501st Legion — a squadron of elite clone troopers in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" that are known for their loyalty. He often teams up with Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan on missions, and during the show's finale, Rex helps Ahsoka survive the Great Jedi Purge. Since the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" trailer appeared to show a glimpse of a clone trooper's armor, it might tease Rex will finally make his live-action debut. Temuera Morrison, who portrays the clone troopers in the Star Wars prequel films, is even believed to be in the trailer, making the theory that much more convincing.

Will Echo Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Will Echo Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

If it turns out Morrison isn't appearing as Rex in "Obi-Wan Kenobi," it's possible he could still return as another popular clone trooper named Echo, who was a member of the 501st legion before he joined a group of clones called the Bad Batch. Echo's defining physical characteristics include his cybernetic right arm and ears. The mystery silhouette in the "Kenobi" trailer, which fans believe belongs to Morrison, appears to have cybernetic implants on the back of his head, and while they're different than Echo's, the similarities are enough to suggest the clone could appear in the series.

Will Han Solo Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Will Han Solo Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

One of the final shots in the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" trailer shows a person with a blaster going up against an inquisitor named Reva. Han Solo, who is introduced as a smuggler in "A New Hope" before becoming a member of the Rebel Alliance with Luke and Princess Leia, is known for using a blaster in fights, leading us to believe he's the mystery person in the trailer.

If it's true, the only question we have left is, who will play him? Mark Hamill was de-aged for his return as Luke in "The Mandalorian," as well as "The Book of Boba Fett," so Harrison Ford could come back to the Star Wars franchise once more. However, the role could go to Alden Ehrenreich instead, since he most recently portrayed Han in the 2018 film "Solo: A Star Wars Story."

Honestly, anything can happen when it comes to Star Wars, so be sure to expect the unexpected when "Obi-Wan Kenobi" premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
