Mark Ruffalo took over the role of the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with the team's first battle in 2012's "The Avengers." He's been portraying Bruce Banner and Banner's alter ego, The Hulk, ever since. Even though he has not had a solo film, he has shown up in various MCU projects.

After "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," The Hulk got stuck on a spaceship and went missing until he popped back up on the planet of Sakaar, where he was used by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) for gladiator-type fighting. Lastly, Ruffalo made a small cameo as Bruce Banner in a "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" post-credits scene.

One of Ruffalo's latest roles reunites him with his "13 Going on 30" costar Jennifer Garner, who plays the parents of Adam (Walker Scobell), a boy who is thrown into a journey with his older self (played by Ryan Reynolds). He plays an F.B.I. agent trying to stop The Four Horseman, four magicians played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco from pulling off a massive heist to steal the fortune of Arthur Tressler, played by Michael Caine. To live on the wild side, they go to a trendy restaurant, and after unsuccessfully trying to get a table, they take someone else's and so ensues a crazy date night.

The Four Horsemen and their leader, Dylan Rhodes, played by Mark Ruffalo, are back to steal stuff in a magical way. This time they're trying to expose the unethical practices of tech giant Walter Mabry, played by Daniel Radcliffe. Mabry then forces the Horsemen to steal a data chip, causing the crew to pull off one more crazy heist.

Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley join forces in John Carney's musical love letter to New York City. Carney, who is known for his films "Once" and "Sing Street," brought music to the streets of New York by way of this little musical movie. Ruffalo plays a down-on-his-luck music executive and Knightley a singer trying to find her break. They end up helping each other and recording an album in various public locations around the city.

Mark Ruffalo earned his first Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor for his role in the critically acclaimed dramedy "The Kids Are All Right." In it, Ruffalo plays Paul, the biological father of the children whose moms conceived them through artificial insemination. The film stars an A-list cast of Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, Josh Hutcherson, and Ruffalo.

Loosely based on true events, "Foxcatcher" follows the training of wrestlers Mark and David Schultz for the Olympics. They are recruited by John DuPont, of the chemical company DuPont, to train at his estate. Steve Carell plays DuPont, along with Channing Tatum as Mark Schultz and Mark Ruffalo as Dave Shultz. Carell was nominated for best actor and Ruffalo was nominated for best supporting Actor at the 2014 Academy Awards for their performances in the film.
