"The First Ladies" is the second historical novel team-up between Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, telling the story of the unlikely friendship between Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune. The pair become good friends, bonded by their shared passion for progress and education, but things become more complicated when Eleanor's husband becomes president.
