Jake Gyllenhaal Makes a Hilarious Cameo in John Mulaney's "Airport Sushi" SNL Sketch

John Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live for the third time on Feb. 29, which meant a musical sketch was inevitable. The 37-year-old comedian and former SNL writer didn't disappoint, as he starred in the hilarious pastiche "Airport Sushi" — a follow-up to his 2018 skit "Diner Lobster" and last year's "Bodega Bathroom."

The clip features Pete Davidson's character buying sushi from New York City's LaGuardia Airport, much to the chagrin of his friend (Chris Redd) and the cashier (Mulaney). An entire musical sequence about purchasing raw fish from a random store — among other travel-related gripes — breaks out, including renditions of classic Broadway tunes from West Side Story, Annie, and Phantom of the Opera. A suspended Jake Gyllenhaal also makes a surprise appearance and sings a TSA-inspired version of Wicked's "Defying Gravity."
