"I chose the Petit Rattle theme for our invites, decor, and thank you cards," Ashley says. "It allowed for a sweet boyish design without being overly baby like."

The mom-to-be showed up to the shower with her mother, Laurie, and sister, Chrystie. They were greeted by JP, who managed to make Ashley's jaw drop.

The Perfect Setting

The shower was held at New York City's General Assembly restaurant. Not only was the location gorgeous with hand-stenciled floors and custom chandeliers, but it had a special place in Ashley's heart.

"The shower just happened to coincide with our move from New Jersey to Florida, so my most cherished moments were the ones we were able to spend with our family and friends for the last time all together in New York City. "

More Than a Flower

When it came to floral arrangements, Jihyen Crowley of Gotham Florist used flowers that were both beautiful and meaningful.

"We used a couple different flowers for Ashley that we thought would represent her best," Crowley says. "Agapanthus is the flower of love and ranunculus mean radiant."

Up, Up, and Away

Ara Farnam of Rock Paper Scissors Events wanted to find cute but chic ways to incorporate travel into the shower.

"I sought out travel-themed items that also had a playful side like aviator rubber duckies, an aviator teddy bear, baby and toddler toy airplanes, as well as children's books about maps and airplanes," she says. To keep them from looking too childish, Farnam paired them with more sophisticated stands and vases.

An Intimate Affair

It was important to Ashley that she spend time with every guest, so she kept the invites to a minimum.

"Too often we have events where we aren't able to spend a significant amount of time with each guest," she says. "I wanted to be sure that I had time to sit and chat with each and every person that took time out of their lives to celebrate with us."

Shots, Shots, Shots!

The pint-sized glasses were filled with tomato and watermelon gazpacho. Guests were also served mini cheeseburgers, stracciatella toast, salmon tartare cones, mini croque monsieurs, and prosciutto-wrapped asparaguses for hors d'oeuvres. Sounds delicious!

From One Mom to Another

"My favorite memory from the shower was receiving a photo album and advice booklet that was made by my guests," Ashley says of her gift.

Fly Away

Part shower activity, part DIY decor. Guests made airplanes out of patterned paper and then used them to create a mobile for Baby R.

Not Your Average Eclairs

In addition to macarons and brownies, the dessert course featured four unique flavors of the French pastry — coconut almond joy, key lime meringue, cherry cheesecake, and chocolate peanut butter (the mom-to-be's favorite!).

The Proud Parents

Ashley and JP loved ever minute of their baby shower but can't wait for the arrival of Baby R.

"I keep telling JP that I daydream about giving Baby R a bath, lathering him with lotion, then putting him in the cutest sleeper, and rocking him to sleep," Ashley says. "I'm not sure if it will all happen as peacefully as I imagine, but I can't wait to find out!"
