Brady Singer, a professional baseball player who just received a $4.25 million signing bonus after committing to play for the Kansas City Royals, showed his appreciation for his parents in the best way: by paying off all their debt for Christmas. In a now-viral video, the 22-year-old pitcher gave his mom and dad a letter thanking them for helping him make his dreams a reality. To repay them for the numerous trips, nights spent in hotels, and meals on the road, he paid off their mortgage, as well as other outstanding debt they had.
"Today is very special to my heart," Brady wrote on Instagram. "To give back to the two people who have given up everything to support my brother and [me]. I can't thank them enough. Love you Mom and Dad."
In the letter, Brady urged his parents to treat themselves for once. "Instead of trying to save money every weekend to replace the savings account you drained on traveling to see me play baseball, you can spend it on yourselves." And yep, I'm pretty much in a puddle.
