Dad Pretends to Be Pregnant Using a Medicine Ball

Dad Thought Pregnancy Was a Piece of Cake, So He Got "Pregnant" For 24 Hours to Find Out

Chris Balmert decided to support his pregnant wife in a very unconventional way: by pretending to be pregnant for a full 24 hours and recording it on video. How exactly did he go about this experiment? By strapping an eight-pound medicine ball inside a drawstring bag to his belly and two two-and-a-half pound weight plates to his chest to act as breasts. And seriously, anyone who's ever been pregnant will find his experience absolutely hysterical. The YouTube video was first published last year but has recently been making the rounds on social media.

Despite not having to worry about things like swollen feet and feeling the seemingly constant sensation to pee, it definitely wasn't a walk in the park for Chris. It's amazing how challenging everyday tasks like sleeping and running errands become when you're carrying the weight of another human being around. After not being able to fall asleep right away, Chris says that "sleeping definitely sucks" when you're pregnant.

Gee, you don't say?

Things didn't get any easier when he had to go out in public to run some errands. Everything started out OK at first but quickly got rocky after they hit the grocery store when Chris complained of being winded, moody, and totally void of patience. Unfortunately for Chris, his day wasn't over yet since he had a ton of housework to get through once he got home. Sound familiar?

After a long day, Chris was able to take off his "belly" and share his final thoughts, which were totally on point: "It's been a pretty long day. I've learned a lot about pregnancy and I've learned that it's very hard. I don't envy you at all. I actually kind of feel bad for you . . . This experiment was definitely a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be. I thought this was going to be a piece of cake."
