Dad's Reaction to Wife Wanting a Fake Christmas Tree
This Dad's Reaction to His Wife Wanting a Fake Christmas Tree Is So Hilariously Valid

Luckily for my mental health, I had already moved out and gotten my own Christmas tree by the time my mom broke our family's collective heart by announcing she could no longer "deal with the f*cking needles on a real tree anymore" and would be getting a fake one. I was appalled, of course, because what is Christmas without needles all over the floor and the sweet smell of balsam fir, but at least I had my tree at home and would only need to see this impostor tree a few times over the holiday season.
Although I know there are thousands of people like me out there, I may have just found my Christmas-tree-loving counterpart in a dad whose world was turned upside down by his wife suggesting they get an artificial tree this year. In a video posted to Twitter by his daughter, you can hear the dad's initial argument โ "they're bad for the environment . . . the whole thing is freaking plastic!" โ followed by his wife's additional suggestion to get a Glade candle that smells like a Christmas tree.
His response? "I don't know what's happened to you, and I know that I can't solve it, so I'm just going to let it go," which he says as he leaves the room with his shoes in hand, probably to go stand among the fresh trees at his local Home Depot, just inhaling the scent with tears in his eyes.
"My mom suggested to my dad that they get an artificial tree this year," his daughter wrote on Twitter. "And he wasn't too thrilled."
"Wasn't too thrilled" is the understatement of the century โ he's absolutely disgusted by the suggestion. Excuse us while we go find this dad to give him a hug and invite him to our real-tree Christmas celebrations.
