4 Harry Potter cupcakes!

Jenn Fujikawa of justJENN recipes made snitch and chocolate frog cupcakes, which she said were served to guests while Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone played in the background to set the magical mood. Hopefully the frogs didn't hop right off the treats like they would have in Harry's world.

Skylar's crafty parents used Pinterest as inspiration for some of the party decorations. This replication of platform 9 3/4 is uncanny — but we don't think Skylar could pass through this wall to catch the Hogwarts Express.

7 A table complete with Honeydukes treats!

Honeydukes, the famous wizarding sweet shop, dispensed tons of magical treats at this birthday gathering — from cockroach clusters and dragon bears to Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans (a risk with every mouthful!).

8 The Golden Snitch, caught on a cupcake.

The elusive Golden Snitch is captured nicely on these sweet treats. They look almost — emphasis on almost — too good to eat.

9 A spellbinding table spread.

A true Harry Potter feast is not complete without dripping candelabras and a shoutout to the main man himself (we spy the trio of magical best friends on the plates and napkins). Hedwig even flew in for the party and settled down front and center.

10 Skylar wants to go to Hermione's alma mater.

Well, not actually Hermione's alma mater, but Emma Watson, who portrayed Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, attended Brown. Skylar looks up to Watson (not a bad role model!) and hopes to go to Brown one day, too. We see a job at the Ministry of Magic in her future . . .
