12 Times Dads Were Just Too Damn Good For This Earth

Rather than snubbing his ex-wife on Mother's Day, Billy Flynn decided to set a good example for his sons by making the holiday extra special for her by serving her breakfast and giving her a card and flowers.

"I'm raising two little men. The example I set for how I treat their mom is going to significantly shape how they see and treat women and affect their perception of relationships," he wrote in a Facebook post. "I think even more so in my case because we are divorced. So if you aren't modeling good relationship behavior for your kids, get your sh*t together. Rise above it and be an example. This is bigger than you."

Ben Patterson had the best intentions when he agreed to watch his children while his wife clocked some girl time with her friends. But unfortunately for this dad, things didn't exactly go according to planned — and his son puked projectile-style all over the car. But rather than totally losing his cool, Ben decided to give his wife a very entertaining rundown of the situation via text, and we're eternally grateful.

A father of two twin girls decided to start a daily ritual with his little ones early on by having them say daily affirmations — and we're totally stealing the idea. Even though one of his girls was still half-asleep, we can't think of a better way to start our days other than saying, "I am intelligent, kind, strong, black, and beautiful."

"He told her that he was a dad," wrote the onlooker. "He wanted to help her so she could rest. He walked the aisle most of the flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta comforting this woman's son as if he was his own. I was in tears . . . because it showed me today that there are still good people out there in a world full of turmoil."

Having toddlers often means another entire universe of issues you didn't even know existed when your child was in infancy. Fortunately, comedian James Breakwell decided to make the most of his daughter's day-to-day by creating fake convos between the two of them, and we cannot get enough of the "back-and-forth."

Hilarity ensued when one dad went to pick up the family pooch at the local PetSmart after a grooming season only to return home with a completely different dog.

Lucky for us, his 22-year-old son Alex caught the whole situation on camera, and we have to say, this is peak dad if we've ever seen it: "My brother and I died of laughter and asked why he would take the dog home if he thought something was off," said Alex. "He said, 'I thought I was getting old and my eyes were betraying me.'"

Navigating the world of breastfeeding isn't exactly a walk in the park, no matter how many children you have, so when one mom started to leak in public, her husband came to the rescue by making it look like he leaked, too. "Everyday we recognize the moms who breastfeed but today I just wanted to give a little shout out to my biggest fan," she said. Aw, how sweet!

Dads aren't always exactly known for being tech-savvy, so when father of six Tony Wood got a text from a wrong number asking for an opinion on a prom dress, he tried to be as helpful as possible in the fashion department — complete with a photo of his kids with their thumbs up.

"I believe this message was intended for someone else. My wife isn't home so I couldn't get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!"

Despite not being as well-versed in the subject of math as he would've liked, Corey Simmons was determined to pull out all the stops by riding the New York City subway looking for answers in an effort to help his son. Thankfully, another commuter snapped a photo of a former math teacher helping Corey, and his efforts quickly went viral.

"By the end of my train ride [Corey] had a better understanding [of the material] . . . he can bring home [what he's learned] and teach his child. I really love seeing sh*t like this especially in New York."

After catching wind that something he said upset his daughter, Randy Gaines decided to make it a teachable moment on how to handle emotions.

He explained to her that she "doesn't always have to be happy," silly, or funny, but "the important thing is, whenever you're feeling [emotions like] this . . . you want to accept it, you want to honor it, you want to acknowledge it, and then let it go." He goes on to tell her that even when she feels upset, it's OK — that she's still loved and she's allowed to be mad, but she shouldn't hang onto those feelings "for too long because that's when it gets to be a problem."
