I scream, you scream! Our friends at All You share a homemade version of your favorite chocolate topping.
You've probably heard of Magic Shell or seen it in your grocery store. It's true: it is actually magical. Pour some of this stuff in its liquid form on a bowl of ice cream, and you'll get an instantly hard layer of chocolaty goodness.
But now you can bring the magic home by making this DIY version. And it's just two ingredients. Of course, one of them is coconut oil (because what can't this stuff do?). The other? Good old-fashioned chocolate chips. You'll actually feel good about serving your kids this topping because you know exactly what's in it.
- 2 cups chocolate chips (any kind: milk, semisweet, or even white)
1/4 cup coconut oil
Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals until the chocolate chips have melted. Stir the mixture together and pour it over ice cream.
If you want to save any remaining topping for later, place it in the fridge and microwave again before using.
