After having to patiently go eight months without seeing her daddy, a little girl couldn't wait a second longer when he returned from Asia.
Cara Oglesby was among hundreds of loved ones waiting to welcome 300 soldiers back to Fort Carson in Colorado. Before being dismissed to greet their families, the soldiers were asked to stand in formation for a formal welcome from their commander. But Cara, in an American flag dress and shiny gold boots, couldn't hold back as soon as she saw her dad.
The little girl went running out of the crowd, interrupting the ceremony, directly into her daddy's arms.
"Cara, she made eye contact with me in the crowd and decided she wanted to say hello a little early so she ran up and gave me a big hug and I just returned the hug back to her," Lt. Daniel Oglesby told Fox 21 News.
