Looking for a fairy-tale room that's practical for your budget, and your toddler? Take a look at this pretty in pink butterfly princess toddler bedroom. It's fun, functional, and adorable! From a pint-sized chandelier to floating butterflies and beautiful books, this room is full of sweet dreams (and tips).
Comfy Space
Chandelier
What's a chic princess room without the right lighting? Since my daughter was born, I've oohed and awed at the Pottery Barn Kids bedroom displays, and the chandelier was one of the top pieces I selected to really make the room sparkle.
Instead of shelling out a ton on lighting for a kid room, try the Ikea Kristaller Chandelier ($40). This affordable option has plastic pieces instead of glass or crystal, so it's less breakable. Wrap the cord and chain in a satin ribbon and you have the essential princess room light.
Insider Tip: Change your light switch to a dimmer so you can adjust the amount of light needed. Try the low light dimmer option instead of using a night light for your little one. Since it's overhead, it gives more visibility.
Whimsical Butterfly Clips
These feathery butterflies add a touch of fairy tale to a princess pink room. Pottery Barn Kids sells a set of six pink butterfly clips ($19, originally $24), but I also found some sets of white butterflies at a local Walmart store that cost less — they just needed clips glued onto them.

Extra Lighting
Add some sparkle to the room with mini LED lights! I used small adhesive hooks to create the heart shape with the lights, and chose a white cord instead of green. Because this is a toddler room, these lights aren't always turned on. Leave that for special evening story times, or turn them on and off with a timer attachment.

Chalkboard Paint
Choosing the right paint is important in any bedroom. This princess room was painted with zero-VOC Yolo Colorhouse Sprout 6 for the pink, and a local paint shop's Yolo "oops paint" with chalkboard mixture for the white accent wall. Painting with chalkboard paint lets you decorate your child's wall and leave messages that you can change at any time. Plus, they'll have a lot of fun drawing on the designated chalkboard wall.

The Princess Toddler Bed
Transform your toddler bed into a day bed fit for a princess. I combined Pottery Barn Kids' Alexa Standard Sham ($25) and pillowcase ($15) with Target's Simply Shabby Chic Rouched Comforter Set ($80-$100) for a full, plush look and feel. Pottery Barn Kids' Pink Classic Tulle Canopy ($69) adds the right amount of whimsical sheer to make the heart lights sparkle. (Ikea's Fabler is $20 and could also work.)
Insider Tip: Buy a twin-size comforter and sheets set so that you can continue using them even after your little girl changes bed frames.
