4 Why Is She Being So Quiet?

Typically, ultrasound technicians or doctors are not superchatty while scanning your belly. This can really test a mama-to-be and her patience levels. Why is she being so quiet? Is something wrong? Or is everything really OK? Good Lord, please give me something here!

I was sick as a dog with my firstborn and therefor completely convinced that there were two babies in my belly (surely one could not cause such misery). I must have drilled the ultrasound tech 100 times to make sure there was, indeed, just one baby.

Yes and no. Before opting out of showing anyone for fear of completely grossing them out, remember that all the movement during the 3D and 4D make it seem like there is a lot more going on than in actuality. In other words, no, those aren't your intestines.

The whole full-bladder-for-the-ultrasound thing is no joke. So for a pregnant woman, who's already tight on space in the first place, it can be downright torturous to hold it in while the technician presses on your belly — over and over again. Someone has had to have lost the battle, right?
