Tom Brady Addresses Rude Comments Made About His Daughter

Tom Brady Comes to His Daughter's Defense After Radio Host Makes Rude Comments

Although New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has enough to focus on career-wise with Super Bowl LII fast-approaching, he was forced to jump into his protective papa bear role recently after a sports radio host made rude comments about his 5-year-old daughter, Vivian. Following the release of the first episode of his new Facebook Watch series, Tom vs Time, Boston sports radio network WEEI host Alex Reimer was asked by his cohost, Mike Mutnansky, what he thought of the show.

"I thought it was fine . . . It was OK," he says with a laugh in the Jan. 25 recording above. "I thought the first scene was so staged. Where Brady's, like, in the kitchen, his kid's being an annoying little pissant . . . "

Brady, who has done a phone interview with WEEI's radio show, Kirk & Callahan, every morning of the football season for years, did not take the crass comment about his daughter lightly. Rather, he responded by cutting his interview short.

"Well, I think that — I've tried to come on this show for many years and have showed you guys a lot of respect," Brady said on Kirk & Callahan on Jan. 29. "I've always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys, so it's very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. But my daughter or any child, they certainly don't deserve that."

After host Kirk Minihane apologized, Brady responsed: "I'll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again, so I really don't have much to say this morning. So, maybe I'll speak with you guys some other time."

Reimer has since been suspended indefinitely by WEEI for his comments.

Regardless of whether you're rooting for the Patriots this Super Bowl — or whether you're a Brady fan in general — I think we can all agree that no parent should have to hear such rude remarks made about their child.
