Scrabble: World of Harry Potter Is Coming, So Brush Off Your Wizarding World Vocabulary
Brush off your wizarding world vocabulary — you'll need it when Scrabble: World of Harry Potter hits shelves this year. The new game from USAopoly adds a magical twist to the word-based board game. In addition to all of the words already in the dictionary, players can spell out words like "accio" and "muggle" to receive Magical Word bonuses. And in a plot twist that'll surely make classic Scrabble groan audibly, character names like Hermione and Severus are all fair game despite being proper nouns, as are places from the wizarding world (like Hogwarts and Gringotts), spells (like "episkey"), and potion names (like "Amortentia"). Additionally, there will be Harry Potter cards unique to this version of the game that give players the chance to earn more points and boost their final score.
It's safe to say that we OG Scrabble players are pumped and that our kids are now going to have a magical reason to love the classic word game. Ahead, take a peek at Scrabble: World of Harry Potter ($30), which hits Barnes and Noble and other retailers' shelves in Spring 2019.
