Is there anything spookier than your favorite Halloween movie not airing? Well, that was the fright fans of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown got last year when, for the first time in decades, the beloved special didn't air on broadcast television. (Families were only able to stream it on Apple TV+ in 2020.)
Thankfully the famous flick will air for free this year on PBS and PBS Kids – in addition to its new home on Apple TV+. But Peanuts fans should mark their calendars: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will air just once, on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. local time.
Those who want to watch Charlie, Snoopy, Sally, and the rest of the gang outside of the one-night-only window can do so by streaming it on Apple TV+ or by watching it the old-fashioned way – buying an It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown DVD ($9, originally $15). That way, your squad can watch the 1966 classic whenever they want!
And, if the Halloween special alone doesn't cut it, be sure to save the date for Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. local time, as that's when A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will air on PBK and PBS Kids. The network will also air A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. local time.
