You can do all of that with your family! Each race weekend, RunDisney hosts a 5K that is perfect for families of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you love Star Wars or you have a little prince or princess who can't wait to dress up like royalty, there's a 5K for every type of Disney fan. Anyone Over Age 5 Can Participate
If your kids are 5 years old or older by race day, they're eligible to participate in a RunDisney 5K. Before signing them up, be sure they understand that they won't be able to take a break for long periods of time during the race, and they'll have to get up early since the races start at 5:30 a.m. But also let them know that if they can manage that, they'll be in for a treat!

All of RunDisney 5Ks Are Untimed Races
Even though you'll see mile markers with an official Citizen time tracker along the route, all of the 5Ks are more of a fun-run type of race. The amount of time it might take you to finish will not count against you in any way — which is good for when your little ones need a walk break.

Family Costumes Make Everything More Fun
If your family wants to wear costumes to match the race theme, a group costume is the way to go! They can be as detailed or as simple as you want. A running skirt and a t-shirt in the right colors can evoke the essence of just about any Disney character. Or go all out and let your kid race in last year's Disney Halloween costume!

You'll Spot Disney Characters Throughout the Course
During the 5K and in the pre- and postrace celebration area, there are quite a few Disney characters to be found. Some of the characters are ones you can see in the parks every day, like Mickey Mouse, and others are more rare — like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Plus, they're always happy to take photos!

You Can Choose From 4 Different Race Themes
Each of the four races throughout the year has a different theme, meaning there's something for every kind of Disney fan. January celebrates classic Disney pals with the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, February is all about Disney princesses with the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, April brings the Force with the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, and November is all about food and wine with the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. (And just a suggestion: a wine run sounds like an excellent girls' trip!)

Wearing Your Medals in the Park Leads to Extra Perks
Celebrate your family's achievement by wearing your medals in the parks. Cast Members will congratulate you throughout the day if you do! If you've planned a table service meal for the weekend, let them know you're celebrating your family crossing the finish line. Most of the time, Cast Members will congratulate you at your meal — and sometimes even bring you some sort of magical treat like a cupcake to help you celebrate!

Running Through the Park is an Amazing Experience
During the 5K, your family will be able to run through the Disney Parks before they open to regular day guests! Being able to enter the parks before they are officially opened is a special experience not everyone gets to have, so take it all in, and don't be afraid to snap a few pics.
