These Photos of a Grandma Celebrating Her 100th Birthday at Disney World Are Pure Magic
When Becky Arino turned 100 years old, she proved that age is just a number by celebrating her three-digit birthday milestone with a trip to Walt Disney World.
Becky, who has been a Disney World season ticket holder since she moved to Florida in the late '90s, told her family that she wanted to spend her 100th birthday at Magic Kingdom — and her granddaughter Rebecca Tuggle got to work. She designed personalized shirts, somehow managed to make a reservation for all 72 people in Becky's extended family to eat together at her favorite resort restaurant, and arranged for a professional photographer to capture the whole day.
"We were complete strangers before this," Starlin Lucy Hilton of Star Photography told POPSUGAR, adding that she first met Rebecca on a Disney Facebook group eight months ago and felt compelled to comment on her post about the big birthday extravaganza. "My job in life is to make everlasting memories for families, and I could not think of any better way to give back to our world except by making the trip from Savannah, GA, to Florida to document these precious memories."
Throughout the day, Becky visited the new Toy Story land, rode the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, caught The Lion King show, and even got to meet the real Mickey Mouse — all with dozens of relatives by her side.
"So many of us are not given the chance to see their grandmother or mother make it to 100 years old and celebrate in Disney World to say the least!" Hilton, who offered up her services for free just to be a part of the special day, told us. "I lost my mother-in-law just recently, and she loved Disney just as much as I do, so I did it in honor her her. I even toted along her Mickey ears she had from 1987."
If this is what 100 looks like, we can't wait to see what Becky has planned for the big 101!
