The 116th Congress, which was sworn in on Jan. 3, includes 125 women — 18 more than the 115th Congress! Within that group, there are a hell of a lot of working moms holding seats, which meant that there were a number of young kids present in Washington DC on the day of the swearing-in ceremony.
From Rashida Tlaib, one of the first Muslim women to be elected to Congress (along with Ilhan Omar), to Ayanna Pressley, the first black woman to be elected to Congress in Massachusetts, these are some of the women of the 116th Congress who were joined by their biggest fans — their kids — to make history on Capitol Hill.
