Discovering Kindred Bravely's Sublime Hands-Free Nursing & Pumping Bra ($50) was the tiny white parachute I needed after returning to work as a nursing mom. Before this bra came into my life, my top drawer was crammed with an overflow of mediocre bras that fulfilled different needs: the comfy sleeping bras that offered zero support, the underwire nursing bras that looked amazing but felt terrible, the wireless options that fell somewhere in between, and of course, the flimsy, strapless, hands-free bra that I layered on top to pump.
Spotting Kindred Bravely's nursing and pumping bra in an Instagram ad changed all of that. It only took a couple of days of not wanting to take it off that I realized I'd finally found the one — the workhorse bra that would help me survive this life stage.
How It Works
Each strap has two clips stacked in a waterfall design. You can unclip the bottom one to pump and unclip the top one to nurse.
Pumping
Unlike the thick folds of fabric that sandwich your nipples with most pumping bras, Kindred Bravely's design has a thinner layer of fabric with holes that fit your nipple and most of your areola. The holes easily stretch to fit the pumping flanges while keeping them in place.
Nursing
When it's time to nurse, removing the top clip easily brings both the thin pumping layer and the softly padded outer layer of the bra down.
Why It's Worth It
Once I tried this bra, I got rid of the strapless hands-free bra I always hated and two other nursing bras that didn't fit or feel nearly as good as this one. I only wish this bra had been invented sooner!
