After navigating this type of indescribable grief, the process of trying to conceive again can be especially arduous and emotional. For parents who do become pregnant again, the experience can feel bittersweet. After experiencing a devastating miscarriage in 2017, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson waited 16 weeks to announce she was pregnant with her daughter, Hazel, in 2019.

She opened up about the experience in an emotional Instagram post at the time, writing: "2 years ago today our world was turned upside down when we lost our first pregnancy... 2 years later we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our rainbow baby. Beverley Mitchell

7th Heaven alum Beverley Mitchell opened up about pregnancy loss via Instagram in March 2020.

"We finally got our gold at the end of the rainbow!!!! We are pregnant with our rainbow baby!" she captioned the post. "The road hasn't always been easy but it is so worth it! It has been far but scarier this time around but just got a great checkup so we are feeling lucky!"

On Oct. 8, 2020, Jamie shared two touching throwback photos from when she and her husband, Doug, found out she was pregnant with their son, Hendrix.

Aja Naomi King

On March 11, Actress Aja Naomi King shared that she experienced two miscarriages before conceiving her rainbow baby.

"I really can't begin to express the fullness of our immense joy to be welcoming a baby into our family," she wrote in her Instagram caption. "With that I also want to express that this beautiful journey has not been devoid of heartbreak. This is my beautiful little rainbow baby."

She also acknowledged the millions of women who have openly shared their experiences with pregnancy loss. "I've been so deeply moved by the women who have openly shared their miscarriages," she said. "It brought me solace in a time that was incredibly painful to know I wasn't alone. To understand that this experience is common, horrible but still common."

The How to Get Away With Murder star expressed how afraid she's been throughout this pregnancy. "I won't lie, it's been hard to not carry my fear with me throughout this pregnancy. To believe that it's real and that this baby will be okay," she said. "That this beautiful gift will remain. But I try to not ignore the facts, and the facts are that I am healthy and my baby is healthy, my baby is growing and now kicking and constantly reminding me of their very real presence within me."
