Kim Kardashian Feared Baby Psalm Would Be Born During the Met Gala: "I Can't Miss This"

To get ready for the 2019 Met Gala, Kim Kardashian went to dress fittings for that supertight corset, she had her glam squad ready to go in New York City, and oh, she also had to prepare for her surrogate to potentially give birth to baby Psalm while she was out of town. During Sunday night's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality star detailed her fears over the birth of her fourth child ahead of the major fashion event. The Met Gala took place on May 6, and Psalm was born on May 10, but regardless of how close she was cutting it, Kim refused to miss the big night — I mean, she was the cover star of Vogue's May issue.

"I just have to get to the Met and back before the baby comes," Kim says in the episode. "[The surrogate] is due in eight days, but I'm gonna stay committed to the Met. It has taken eight months to get our Met look perfect, and I committed to it and I can't miss this . . . I just hope she doesn't have the baby early." Erm, the surrogate took nine months to carry baby Psalm, Kim!

While Kim attended the Met Gala with Kanye West, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Corey Gamble, and Travis Scott, her other sisters were in Los Angeles and on standby in the event of an emergency labor. In fact, Khloé Kardashian was ready to step in for her big sister if the surrogate gave birth, but thankfully, that wasn't the case. "My anxiety is through the roof, but luckily I haven't heard from my surrogate so I hope there's no emergency today and we make it through tomorrow when we get home." Phew! Check out some cute photos of baby Psalm ahead.
