This Mom's Hack For Keeping Car Trash at Bay Is Genius — and It Only Cost Her $1

When I spin around to take a look at the backseat of my car, it's an embarrassment. There are milk splashes everywhere from who knows how long ago, and more toys than I think we have in the house. And I know once my daughter gets older and begins eating more snacks in the car, the trash is only going to pile up.

When mom Vanessa Barrios of @mamahood.adventures took a look in her back seat, she knew she had to come up with a parenting hack to handle the wrappers and trash. And that she did!

In an Instagram post she writes, "I'm trying to be more conscious of times during the day that I am frustrated or I say I wish there was a mom hack for this or that. So why wait? @mamahood.in.the.ie and I are trying out #momhackmonday so we can share our favorite hacks especially when we are out and about. This one is a trash can Monster! We keep him in the car and the boys love feeding him all the trash. I was going crazy finding wrappers or other things inside the car. So now the boys get excited to feed him and it's eliminated trash inside the car. Winning this week with just this hack. You can find this trash can at the 99 Cent Store and use a sharpie to draw on his face. There's some other great learning activities you can do with him but for now he's rolling with us."

You can see just how her son has been using it, and it's super simple to set up, too! Hats off to the creativity to keep that garbage at bay.
