The 13 Kids Your Kid Is Friends With

Whether he's actually eating them one by one or picking a snack, opening it, and informing you that, actually, he doesn't like those, can he have another? — this kid is adding items to your grocery list.

You wake up in the morning and this kid is at the table with your kids waiting on breakfast, and when you get them off the bus from school, she's right behind them, asking what's on the agenda for the afternoon. You didn't file any paperwork, but you've basically adopted her — I mean, she's calling you "mom" at this point.

When this kid is around, your perfect little angel is so easily swayed to misbehave, test their limits, and act completely out of character — because, let's face it, this kid is cooler than you, and although he may not be the best role model, your kid loves him.

No matter what your kid decides to play with this friend, your house will be left in absolute shambles — how the heck did he even reach the top shelf?! There's no point in cleaning as they play; you might as well just watch the madness unfurl and worry about it after he leaves, when you will undoubtedly take your first deep breath in hours.

There's always one. Always. Cue awkward conversation with his mom, who will likely then apologize while subtly suggesting that maybe your kid had something to do with it because why would her kid bite them unprovoked?!

This kid is a mess, walking from room to room of your house dropping his things along the way. You're constantly sending your kid into school with sippy cups, toys, and socks that belong to this kiddo. Hey, he's a free spirit.

You're pretty awesome, what can you say? This kid comes over and no matter what your child does to entertain them, they only want to play with you. They draw you pictures, bring you toy offerings, crawl into your lap for a forced reading session, and share their snacks with you. #BFFs

Everything is just too much for this kid — he doesn't want to get dirty, the way your snacks are thrown in the cabinet is causing him grief, and somebody better send help if he gets a stain on his clothes.

No matter what the circumstance, whenever this kid is near yours, her wild side comes out. You can find your kid and her friend running around the house, screaming nonsense at the top of their lungs, and generally doing everything like they've had about 40 cups of coffee each.

This kid is the definition of a know-it-all. Most of the time this kid is, well, full of it, but he'll argue with you until the cows come home. Sometimes you just need to admit defeat, nod your head, and smile (though it's probably killing you on the inside).

Though the toys belong to your kiddo, hearing this friend talking about how your kid's toys pale in comparison to his supercool toys back at home almost feels like a personal jab — you bought them! No matter how true the statements are, this kid always claims to have the best gizmos at his house (so you're mentally noting that maybe playdates with this little one should be at his house from now on).

You don't even really know how to deal with this kid because her sass brings out the childish side of you. You go from being a calm, collected adult to a defensive kid trapped in an adult body when she insults your art project and game ideas and says that she would rather not play with you at all because you're an adult. Whatever the dig, she makes you reassess everything you thought you knew about being a functional adult.

There's always a kid you admire from afar — he is always so well kept, he looks delightful, his manners are impeccable! You try desperately to get your child an in, but unfortunately, this kid wants nothing to do with your little, and it's a sad, sad day.

Conversely, there is the kid who desperately wants to be your kid's friend but he just will not have it for whatever reason, so that leaves you dodging the kid's mama when she tries to make plans after school.
