This Woman's Photo Series Nails What We Lose When We Become Moms, and We Can't Get Enough of It

Desiree Fortin, a mom of triplets, uses her Instagram account, The Fortin Trio, to hopefully bring a smile to other tired mamas' faces. And one of her funniest photo projects, which she dubbed the "R.I.P." series, playfully shows each and every single thing women lose as soon as they enter the wild and wonderful world of motherhood.

"The R.I.P. series has been one of my favorites because it's something all moms relate to," she told POPSUGAR. "I wanted to create something that was relatable, honest, and humorous. This series is a great reminder that you aren't the only mom who doesn't poop alone, wear a mom bra, or have a to-do list that's never-ending. While I wouldn't trade being a mom to my triplets for anything, it's so fun to bring light to something so relatable to moms everywhere!"

And when you're taking care of your kids day in and day out, sometimes it's nice to know you're not alone in this whole parenting thing — especially on the worst days.

"I hope more than anything that other moms will get a smile out of this series and be reminded that they aren't alone on this journey! And even though this life is so much better and full of the greatest love, it's OK to miss our premom days, our premom bodies, and everything in between," she said.

Desiree says that at the end of the day, all she's trying to do is inspire women to lift each other up since it takes a village, after all.

"I think it is important to bring humor to our newsfeeds because there is so much negativity in our world and this offers a good laugh. I think this series is encouraging and I hope that other moms see that, too. As moms, we need to be lifting one another up and supporting each other rather than shaming, and I think the joy in this series does that."
