Sour Patch Kids Candy Corn Is Returning Soon, and Can It Just Be Halloween Already?

I'm just gonna come right out and say it: I hate candy corn. In fact, I'd say it fits into the "candy I absolutely despise" group, right alongside Good & Plenty or anything that contains licorice, for that matter. Apparently my pals over at Sour Patch Kids HQ are fully aware of my candy corn aversion because they've created an alternative to the highly disputed candy — with a sour twist, of course.

Last year, orange- and grape-flavored Sour Patch Kids Candy Corn hit shelves at stores like Walmart, and it looks like they're already starting to pop up again this month. Reigning snack expert Junk Banter recently spotted the sour kernel-shaped bites at Dollar General and was "pleasantly surprised" by the taste. "Going with only orange & grape was a bold, bold move, but I'm especially in love with the grape. It has a powdery sweetness and tastes like a sour, kickass version of Big League Chew. The orange is less special but good nonetheless," they wrote, adding, "The best part about this candy corn is that is doesn't taste remotely close to candy corn." Um, consider me sold!

Ahead, get an up-close look at the Sour Patch Kids Candy Corn in all their sour-dust-covered glory. We're predicting these beauties to return to Walmart shelves soon, so prepare your precious tastebuds in the meantime.
