Attention, '90s kids: your virtual reality pet is back from the dead. After a limited run last year, the original Tamagotchi is officially being stocked at various online retailers including Target, Walmart, and Amazon. The nostalgic collection features 16 different styles, with my personal favorite being the mermaid and green glitter Tamagotchi — which I totally owned back in the day.
For those who may have forgotten, the game asks players to take care of a virtual pet by monitoring its hunger, happiness, discipline meter, and more. Though plenty of millennials will be eager to revisit the game, the simple three-button device might also offer a welcome, old-school change for the current tech-savvy generation.
